Kitchen Pics

These are pics before drywall was installed and after it was done. There is still some finishing left to do but you can get the gist now of what the final product will be!!! I kinda miss being able to walk through the walls though... I got used to the open spaces in the framing. No more shortcuts to the garage!

Yay  drywall!!! Now we can get a feel for what it is going to look like :) so exciting...

Front door view... to the left is the new laundry entry

Island and load bearing columns

Took time for a little pic with the hubby

View from the living room and where the couch will end up being.

Same view as above but you can see through the foyer, laundry room and in to the garage.

Demolition

Tim's first reno project...

Worst tile ever... it just turned to red clay dust.

Pink Carpet is gone! This is the master bed room.

Standing in the guest room. Craig is taking off door jams and base boards.

Funky tiki ceiling decor is gone, bar cabinets gone.

Kitchen cabinets being removed.

Another angle - rusty dishwasher is out too...

Me, chipping away at the kitchen tile... Tim did this much faster with the power tools. But I got them started ;)

All cabinets and counters are gone.

Starting to take out the kitchen walls that are not staying... 5 lb sledge hammer is a really fun tool.

Standing in the den, looking though the kitchen. All the walls in the picture are coming down except the 2 load bearing columns. You can see 1 here - the other is on the left behind the kitchen wall.

Another view, more walls are down... notice the floor is a step down in this picture.

Floor is poured in the den! Looks much better and flows nicely. Tim is taking out the header in the kitchen.

Cutting boards for framing

A little yard work - trimmed some of the overgrown trees and shrubs. Thanks Lynn, Molly and Jennifer for your help!

Before Pictures

Standing in foyer, looking into the living room (to the right) / dining room (to the left). Hallway to the guest bath and guest bedroom is straight ahead. Also, the linen closet/AC return is in that closet - and it was gross!
Standing in foyer looking into the kitchen and the enclosed porch is beyond that. The floor in the porch/den is about 4 inches lower than the rest of the house.

Standing in the living room looking at the dining room and the enclosed porch/den is beyond that. Lovely chimney full of bugs and soot as well as a not quite "built-in" built in bar. The master bedroom is to the right where the sliders are.

Standing in the doorway of the master bedroom. Walk in closet and bathroom are on the wall on the right.

Going over layout options with our amazing architect Bob Britt. We are standing in the den at the kitchen bar. Oh and the tiki bar thing on the ceiling has no purpose - it was built for looks... ew! That same person picked pink carpet too. yikes
Standing in the kitchen. Foyer and front door are to the right. Den is to the left. Dining and living room are straight ahead.

Kitchen shot again...
Front of the house - pink shutters and lights!!!

Looking at the backyard - all that green grass is ours! Good thing Tim got a lawn mower...

Standing in the yard looking at the back of the house. To the left is this awful deck area with a neglected jacuzzi tub.

Speaking of the neglected Jacuzzi tub - here it is! Full of tadpoles and frogs... That has definitely got to go.

Side of the house

Another kitchen shot

And another

One of the bigger demo projects - removing the chimney, patching the roof, and removing those clay tiles!!!

Standing in the den looking into the kitchen. The white door ahead takes you into the garage and laundry area.
